Its not about the sex its about the rejection, amirite?
by Educational-Good-6352 weeks ago
People have basic needs, and it's the norm that some people's needs get rejected all the time, while other's don't. Life is not fair, but I see people are not very sympathetic to those have nots. People in general have immense trouble of picturing other people's lives that are not like theirs. If you attain success easily, you think that everyone can just do it like you, and the others are merely lazy.

My ex rejected my advances frequently, I was begging for attention in general because most days it felt like he was deliberately ignoring me. It really messed up my self esteem. Turns out he was cheating the last year of our relationship. That especially destroyed my self esteem.

I'm more concerned that you imply saying no demands a explanation

If someone had a spouse that has been saying no to sex for months/years, I think it's perfectly reasonable to want to discuss why. That's just called "communication." No, you shouldn't have to explain yourself for not wanting sex every now and again. But if you haven't been in the mood for a prolonged period of time and there is a reason why, maybe it's best to have that discussion with your partner.

Of course it demands an explanation. You better explain why to your intimate partner that you're withholding sex. If it's just once in a long while, fine. Maybe too tired, back hurts, something. But if this becomes a consistent problem, you have every reason to demand an explanation. That's still a legitimate reason to divorce your SO without fault, so, if you don't put out and make the effort, be prepared to get a-packin'.

Basic consent is hard to understand these days I'm seeing. People think I'm talking about a years long sex less marriage. You're looking for context to be mad about I never even mentioned.
